Art Lending Library

As seen on this week`s BBC Culture Show, the Market Gallery in Glasgow will run an Art Library.

Market Gallery will run an experimental ‘Art Lending Library’ allowing visitors to the Festival to borrow significant pieces of contemporary art for a fixed time period.

The library will include works from up to fifty artists covering a diverse range of practices, allowing access to the artworks not usually possible within normal gallery settings. This will enable individuals the unique opportunity to live with, enjoy and discuss contemporary art within their own personal or social environments from their own homes to their place of work. In addition to the artworks in the library which are available for loan, there will be a resource section for artists’ publications which will be developed in collaboration with other events and talks in the GI Festival Programme.
